The Polish Legion of American Veterans is an organization of veterans, whose membership shall not be discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion or national origin.
We are committed to the ideals of patriotism, charity, and volunteerism through allegiance to our country, honor to our country's standards and aiding in the rehabilitation of disabled veterans.
Our goal is to dedicate time and effort to ensure no benefits be denied to those who served their country, and to support legislation intended for those who earned the right to benefits being considered.
The Polish Legion of American Veterans, USA Department of Florida is part of the National Department also identifies as (PLAV, USA) is an American Veterans Organization chartered by an Act of Congress, open to all honorably discharged veterans of the US Armed Forces and certain allies. One must be a citizen of the US. It operates in 14 states but has numerous at large members where PLAV, USA does not, at present, have Post representation.
The Department of Florida, PLAV, USA has 2 Posts in Florida. One located on the east coast (Davie, FL) and one located on the west coast (Spring Hill, FL). Both Posts, as well as the Department, support 5 VA Hospitals in Florida with volunteers and monetary donations.
All Posts sponsor various patriotic events in their areas as well as participating with other groups. The PLAV, USA also has an Auxiliary and Sons of the PLAV units. The PLAV, USA was originally organized in 1920 in Chicago, IL as an organization made up of veterans of Polish Descent from World War I and later to include WW2, Korea, Viet Nam and veterans from other wars and conflicts. One does not have to be of Polish descent to join our fine organization, just a want to help veterans and their families. There are no inclusive dates for becoming a member other then having honorable discharge. ALL veterans that served, regardless of when or where, are eligible.

The PLAV, USA including the Department of Florida also sponsors various local hometown patriotic events and through the National Department offers scholarship grants to the children of PLAV members for continuing education. Some also sponsor Boys/Girls Scouts Units, Soccer Teams, Baseball Teams, etc.
Service Officers are available to assist veterans in obtaining benefits.
Officers on both the National and State levels are elected at biennial (every two years) conventions. Post elections are conducted on the odd number year. Example: National, 2020, 2022, State,Post: 2019,2021 etc.
BY BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE PLAV, USA, YOU WILL SENSE THE PRIDE OF MEMBERSHIP IN AN ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO THE WELL BEING OF ALL VETERANS WHO SERVED OUR COUNTRY.
